NExT Launches as Premier Network for Excellence in Tech Law – New York, NY – September 25, 2025.

NExT (Network for Excellence in Tech Law), a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the legal technology community by promoting education, innovation, and diversity so that a full range of qualified persons have an opportunity to participate, succeed and better the industry, officially launched its new brand identity with a special event hosted at Norton Rose Fulbright’s New York offices on September 24, 2025.

Now in its third year, the organization is evolving from its original identity as BUiLT (Blacks United in Legal Technology) to reflect its expanded mission and growing membership base. NExT will continue to champion diverse voices while broadening its focus to foster collaboration, mentorship, and innovation across the legal tech ecosystem.

“NExT represents a bold step forward for our community,” said Dawson Horn, Co-Founder and President. “We’ve built a strong foundation over the past three years, and this next chapter allows us to expand our impact, amplify more voices, and create a trusted platform for the future of legal technology.”

Among the initiatives NExT has either launched or is in the process of rolling out are:

  • Mentorship and Career Advancement: Pairing early-career professionals with seasoned experts.
  • Speaker Bureau: Connecting diverse voices with industry events and media opportunities.
  • Jobs Board: Curating career opportunities for members while helping sponsors access top talent.
  • Community Programming: Panels, webinars, and networking events focused on emerging issues in legal tech.

The NExT Launch Party convened executives, practitioners, innovators, and journalists, who celebrated  this milestone and spotlighted the organization’s expanded vision.
